We have been coming on holiday to South Africa for the past six years and always travel around staying in different areas. Although we have stayed in Hermanus and Hemel en Aarde, this was our first visit to Vermont - a small suburb about 15 minutes drive fom the centre of Hermanus Our first impressions as we drove through the gates was that we were being welcomed as if we were friends of Sharon's She made us so welcome and you could tell that she was very proud of her guest house Our room was 105 - huge bed and good sized en-suite. We had a wrap around balcony with a table and chairs for our convenience and the area was certainly safe enough to leave patio doors and windows open Breakfast was lovely - with a lovely fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cereals, coffee machine, tea etc., and then almost any combination of cooked breakfast you wanted. I became addicted to the cheese, tomato and onion omelette and I think the only downside was the sliced bread - it would have been amazing to have had some freshly sliced 'proper' bread The outside area was lovely - very clean and tidy with a lovely pool.

When we sat out there James was way ahead of us and put cushions on the sun loungers, umbrella for our comfort and pool towels which were lovely and big and fluffy There was a good pub just up the road well within walking distance and a little restaurant called Moltenos a few blocks away - probably the best locals restaurant we have found All in all we spent an amazing four nights with Sharon, Colin, James and her lovely staff and I can't wait to go back and stay with them again …
