I always imagined my 20th birthday would be some amazing thing and one of the highlights of my year. It won't be. I live in Australia; my home town is in NSW but I study in VIC. Currently, to really start the new year with a bang, I'm driving to an airport for a stopover in Brisbane before finally getting to Melbourne. I have packed up everything and my entire life here (have been in NSW since March) in less than 24 hours, in a desperate attempt to get back to Melbourne before the border closes on us. All this would be fine if not for the fact that when I go back, I have to enter 14-day self-isolation. Now, as a student, I live in student accommodation with shared facilities. How that's gonna work with isolation, I'm not sure. But my room is tiny. When I say tiny I mean TINY. I don't know how I won't go insane in that box for 2 weeks straight. My birthday's on the 3rd of January. I have no family here in VIC. Happy birthday to me I guess.
