All climbers not participating in the via ferrata stay at Laban Rata. Dorm rooms are assigned upon arrival. If the sun has been shining, a very limited supply of solar-heated hot water is available for showering. This runs out quickly so if you are one of the earlier climbers to reach Laban Rata and want a warm shower, it's recommended that you try for a shower straightaway. Laban Rata guests have sheets and blankets provided and you may want to bring a lightweight towel as the towel supply is limited. Supper for all climbers is served at Laban Rata. Outside of meal times when hot water and/or coffee and tea are available, all beverages must be purchased. Tap water is natural mountain spring water and it is advised that climbers bring tablets or a filter to treat the water before drinking.

Leeming then became the base for Tornado F3 fighters housing Nos. 11, 23 and 25 Squadrons. 23 Squadron disbanded in April 1994, since being reformed as an AWACS unit flying Sentry AEW1 from Waddington. 11 and 25 Squadrons were joined by No. 100 Squadron in September 1995 flying Hawks in a target facilities role.
