I'm a primary care physician and I deal with this issue daily with my patients, so I think I have some perspective on the issue. I don't think it's healthy for them to just be accommodated for 4 years then spat out into the real world where this won't be an option for them. I help them where I can, and yes I write notes for some of them, but it really is getting out of control in today's society. There needs to be a SOCIETAL FIX, it's not all the fault of the universities (in my opinion). I know people who are high up in administration at uOttawa. There are an ungodly amount of accommodations these days for kids who really are too sick to be at university. My question is: if you have so much anxiety that you have to space out your exams to once a week (yes, that's an actual accommodation some ask for), how is that fair to the kids who write 4-5 exams in 7 days? Some faculties have had to extend their exam period because of this issue. I don't mean to be rude about this, but there can't just be accommodations made for massive amounts of kids who seem not to be able to handle the stress of university.
