North Ronaldsay Golf Course For the golf enthusiast you'll find a nine-hole course on the links facing Linklet Bay! This was created in 1890, and you don't need to remember your club or ball, as these can be borrowed from the club hut pictured! The course is rugged and challenging (there's lots of shep poo, and many of the holes are missing flags – only poles are left) but more than makes up for it with a beautiful sea view. Beaches North Ronaldsay has some lovely sandy, unspoilt beaches – we'd recommend Linklet Bay and South Bay, with their soft white sands, heartily on a sunny day! On this writer's first visit to North Ronaldsay we visited Linklet Bay and found the beach filled with over 200 seals hauled up and sunbathing! The scene was like something from a David Attenborough nature film. We watched them for a while until a few sensed our presence and the 200 seals flip-flopped back into the sea with a thunderous noise! The kitchen looked out onto a private green area with the mountains in the distance. The location was only 2 minutes by car to Main Street where the street intersected about halfway between the north and south sides of Rocky Harbor -- so close to everything. Note that I prefer a little quiet away from the main hustle and bustle (which is prettyb uiet innRocky Harbor). There were small touches everywhere that made this a comfortable place to stay. I highly recommend it. £88 Oliver's Landing Oliver's Landing is set in Rocky Harbour and offers a garden, barbecue facilities and a terrace. This holiday home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Cottage was exceptionally clean and well stocked kitchen. Even had a lobster pot.
