The four stages of the Experiential Learning Cycle are:- Concrete experience Observation and Reflection Abstract Conceptualization Testing concepts in new situations The cycle is a continuous process with the current 'concrete experience' being the basis for observations and reflections, which allow the development of a 'theory'. The 'theory' is then tested in new situations to lead to more concrete experience. Kolb developed from the Lewin model the idea that students have a dominant phase of the cycle during which they prefer to learn and therefore will have preferred modes of learning. In order to identify the preferred study and learning styles, Kolb developed a Learning Style Inventory that identified student's preference for the four modes corresponding to the stages in the learning cycle.

Hi everyone, First of all, THANK YOU. I have been lurking here for the past month and reading all of your advice & tips and learning as much as I can. At times, it can feel a bit overwhelming, but your advice and comments have helped immensely. Anyways, I am planning a honeymoon for my fiance and I in July. We will be in Iceland for 12 days, spending the first and last days in Reykjavik. In the time between, we will be renting a car and driving the ring. Here is a "rough draft" of our itinerary. I have not booked most of the accommodations yet, so the itinerary is fluid and very flexible. Any advice, tips, and personal opinions are encouraged! Please let me know if you have any thoughts on my plan. Also, I would appreciate some advice on when planned or guided tours and activities are required versus hiking on our own.

After a long day of working hard to get closer and closer to a degree having a TV to sit infront of and de-stress is important for students because thinking about something other than their studies and degree is beneficial to their health. For instance, you had to buy tickets for group classes at the box office, but the box office closes at 5:00 and registration started at 6:00 so we had to wait till the next morning to get class tickets. Just little things like that, definitely didn't take away from the experience.
