we hitched a ride with phi phi island village to phi phi island - the agreement was that on arrival we would get a boat from the hotel to the main port area. due to bad weather, we weren't able to get into the hotel pier, so they stopped off at another beach (lanna). here we were faced with an ultimatum from the hotel staff - pay an exorbitant fee to be brought to the other main bay (lo dahlum), swim, or climb the mountains. upon refusal to pay, our bags were dumped on the beach. while standing next to my bags, i was nearly driven over by the hotel car as he drove away. luckily our dive shop was able to order a reasonably priced taxi boat for us and we got away - but i was left very unhappy and disappointed with my "5-star" island village experience.
