The phone would ring a half dozen times before it was picked up, and when I tried to call down at check out, I was put on hold for eight minutes and decided to just carry my stuff downstairs on my own—when I got to the desk, there was literally no one waiting. Not really the service I expected. You can tell when a manager is passionate about their property; Staff is happy, service is top notch, and the property is pristine. The Peninsula was none of these. It is in dire need of change. I wouldn't expect this poor of service and lax standards at a hotel that costs $100 a night; at $500, it's simply inexcusable.
